I Love Gardening …. Nature, Birds, Country Life — it seems it has always just been a “part” of me. Growing up I always had a garden – it was just something that was second nature and the funny part is, no one else in the family of 7 (5 kids, 2 parents) even cared about it much. It was just something I did. I have always gardened and truly appreciated what was going on in the whole cycle of ….gardening. I look back on all my gardening experiences and I even made all my own baby food for my 2 kids, it was economical for a family starting out, AND it was easy – just to grow it and know exactly what I was feeding my children. I still recall when I asked my now teenage son to help me start a garden in a new area – dig up, pull the grass/weeds and level all, etc. He was exhausted during the project and could not rationalize WHY in the world I was going through all this work……obviously, he forgot all those home-grown veggies he grew up on!
In today’s society most folks don’t grow up on a farm or have any clue about “just gardening”. It’s a necessity more than ever these days and one I never even thought twice about. I strongly believe EVERYONE should have a Garden! Everyone…in the whole world should have some sort of garden! I am in no way any type of expert … I think it’s just a gene I was born with and my sincere hope is to spread the word ……. Gardening is a must for future generations!
I currently have 2 homes – one is on an acre and the other we just acquired last year has 18 acres! I have all kinds of plans, ideas and dreams which I will share here. I am sure there will be a lot of trials, tribulations and sweat along the way – but, I know that it will be well worth all the effort!
Ooh I’m so glad we found each other! I’ll become a faithful follower; I’m exceptionally eager to start my *own* garden.
Hi Jennifer, glad to hear you got the bug. I’m 77 years old & have been gardening all my life. The area I live in used to be all farms. Now it’s all houses, alot of them empty. If you think I could help with something don”t be afraid to ask. Gardening is such a wonderful & rewarding hobby. It never stops giving.

Leslie, I got some of the hottest, tastiest pepper seeds ever at the market under the bridge in Nassau.
Just buy a couple of bird peppers (similar to habaneros).
Cut them open and plant the seeds!
I wish I still had some growing here in Florida.
I work with developmentally disabled adults and have been looking for luffa seeds for them to plant in their garden. If you have any available, please send them to:

I sent you a message yesterday & when I hit the submit button the site died. I mailed some lufa seeds today. I got them on Craids list from Debs gardens & couldn’t use all of them, so I sent the rest of them to you. Good luck with your projects.
